It's very true, and yet, I often find that businesses don't actually want to pay for the time it takes to really familiarise yourself with a product. Hmm

People are still arguing about what Web 2.0 even means.

Hopefully we have some agreement on web 3.0 before that term starts going around.

Excellent article regardless. I completely agree.

Hiring copywriters can be extremely benefitial but only if you're certain that they will provide high quality content.

I have been able to stay away from hiring a copy writer by using Glyphius. I am new to internet marketing & I was looking for a way to pay a one time fee instead of on going pay. I stumbled across glyphius in a blog. It is basically allowing me to compare my ads against popular ads to determine if mine needs to be tweaked. I enjoyed your blog if I opt for a copy writer I will come back to your blog. Thanks

I love copywriting, and i do agree that you need to understand the market first.

Does anyone use any tools to help with their copy? I use some tools offered by James D Brausch.

Agreed. This is a smart forum. I like revisiting blogs that have smart readers and this is one of them. I am also on the Glyphius bandwagon. James D. Brausch’s software is a great tool to use and it saves time. Who doesn’t want to save more time? You want to get the most effective ads out there, right? And not kill yourself in doing it either. Evaluating efficiency and profitability is invaluable in today’s market – Glyphius makes this easy.

Writing is great fun, I'm a copywriter and really do enjoy my job. Problem is that everyone expects really high quality work for peanuts. Few people will spend over $5 per article which is nothing!

There's no easy way to get articles, although there are tools to help such as Glyphius. Still writing should be done properly and a lot of love should go into each and every article! Perhaps i'm just old fashioned but I hate keyword stuffed articles!

I agree with you, Andrew, that you should first and foremost research and understand your target market and, even more importantly, make their live better with what you do.

The Search Engines are also important though. As I learned over time, if you build a site to attract people coming from Google or Yahoo your "copy" needs to be Search Engine friendly, so to speak. They even go so far to give your domain name a couple ranking points (or none at all!).

So maybe that Infragistics tool does the job in terms of Web 2.0, and, of course, you should come up with very good copywriting skills to pull your visitor to and through your site.

But first and foremost, as I'd say, you should use Wordtracker for your keyword research, and Nemeas for your domain name analysis.

What does it help you write very well but no one sees it?

I've used Glyphius before as well, and it's invaluable for weeding out the ads that just aren't going to work. For submissions of copy, though, I like Artemis Pro to get advertorials or article marketing works out there.

As a follow up to Jennifer Melinas comment, I also heard good things about Glyphius - it comes in handy when you're trying to think of a catchy headline and worried about conversion rates. Clients always clamor for "catchy and engaging headlines" - finally there's a software that's tracked successful ads and you can compare yours with it!
